How to configure wpa_supplicant.conf manually?

Hi,

wpa_supplicant is a WiFi tool for authentication. This post shows you how you can configure the file /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf to work with WPA2.

network={
        ssid="Put your SSID here"
        psk="Put your secret key here"
        proto=WPA2
        key_mgmt=WPA-PSK
        group=CCMP TKIP
        pairwise=CCMP TKIP
}

To start wpa_supplicant, open a terminal and do as root:

# wpa_supplicant -Dwext -i -c/etc/wpa_supplicant.conf

Instead of direct editing, you can also use wpa_gui if you prefer.

That’s all
