How to chat via Netcat?

Do you have Gtalk? Facebook chat? or something like that? Well, probably yes. But, if do not have such communication types? I know, nowadays is really rare to anyone do not have them. So, if you are a bit nerd or if you like command lines as bash, I guess is a cool idea to use Netcat program to chat with “any” machine. The command is simple:

Start server:

$ nc -lp 5800

Start client and on the next lines, type what you want. In the same way, on the server side, your friend can type as well.

$ nc {server IP} 5800

The number 5800 is the port number of the communication, but you can type any port that is free as well. So, have fun. 🙂

That’s all,
